Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) offers financial incentives to farmers and land managers in England to help them protect, restore or enhance the environment.
This can include activities such as restoring wildlife habitats, creating and managing woodlands, mitigating flood risks, and more. The scheme provides funding for complex, long-term projects.
It is made up of ‘actions’ which are specific land management practices aiming to achieve an environmental benefit. The scheme can be applied to various types of land, including woodlands, farmed areas, and land managed for nature, or a combination of these. It also covers important environmental and historic sites, such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), commons, woodlands, and scheduled monuments.
CSHT runs alongside and is supported by capital grants.
If you are interested in applying for any of the CSHT action please get in touch via our contact form or by emailing farmsupport@northyorks.gov.uk.
